What’s in a name?

Almost everybody in the entire western world has heard of the name God. But what does the name God mean.

Some people say that this name means Good. Which in many ways would be an accurate description of the nature of God.

But interestingly, the name’s meaning is actually far more powerful than that.

The Name: God Essentially the name God means the one who is invoked, or in more modern language, the one who is called upon for assistance, inspiration or support.

Further it is said that he or she who calls upon the name of God shall be delivered and restored.

In other words, if you do actually invoke God, you will be helped.

This is very exciting because of its deeper implication. God is the one who is always there for you, whenever you need assistance.

A fact to which millions of people across all times, generations, cultures and creeds can attest.

Kind of reminds me of the ancient adage that God is our good Father. And like any good Father, he is always there to help – all you need to do is to ask.
