A New Way of Life

What is the secret to happiness? The answer is as old as time itself, yet so few of us know it. It is in just about every philosophy of good in existence.

The Secret of Happiness

Make others happy.

Sounds simple, doesn’t it? And it is.

The secret to happiness is based on ancient Law of Sowing and Reaping.

The Law of Sowing and Reaping

Whatever you do will come back to you. As you sow, so shall you reap. Whatever goes around always comes around more.

These simple rule is the foundational principle upon which all of morality and justice is based. It is the principle which God uses to judge the world.

Have you ever noticed that generous people always seem to have money. And friendly people always seem to have friends. And people who teach freely, always seem to have knowledge.

What we give out always comes

back to us.

Now I know that sometimes it seems like some people are getting away with evil. This is particularly common in the corporate world, where there seems to be a new breed of ruthless managers, who only believe in profits, regardless of the effects their decisions have on the lives of others. But even these people don’t get away with it. They often have family problems, or health problems. And it’s amazing how unfulfilled these people seem to be deep down inside.

So the secret to happiness, and just about anything else you want is simple. First give it, and then you’ll get it. So if you want money, give money to those who are helping themselves. If you want friends, be a friend. If you want love, give love. And if you want happiness, make others happy.

In fact this principle has been one of the greatest keys to my personal success. By giving money, I have acquired wealth. By helping others to have more love in their relationships, I was helped to get together with my wife. By teaching freely, I have gained immeasurable breadths of knowledge.

And the principle also applied to areas of my life where I wasn’t as pure as I should have been. Where I sowed pain, I reaped pain. Where I betrayed, I was betrayed. Where I hurt, I was hurt.

It was when I noticed that what I did to others, always came back multiplied to me, that my life changed. It was then that I started to actively seek to make those around me happier, and this in turn resulted in more happiness in my life too.

And that is what Jesus the Christ was trying to teach us when he said,

The Golden Rule

Do unto others, as you would have them

do unto you.

Because as you sow, so shall you reap. So if you give out good, joy, love, peace and happiness. You will have a life filled with happiness. If you give out misery, pain, selfishness and suffering you will have a life filled with pain, disappointment and frustration.

Just try it out. From today, take just one area of your life that you want to improve, and start to sow the results you want into someone else’s life. In fact sow these results into many other peoples lives. Give it a few months (usually takes between 3 and 6 months) and watch how your life starts to change in that area. So if it’s money you need, give money. Love, then show Love. Happiness, then make others happy.

The Golden Rule is the first and most important of all moral codes,

because it provides a way of living, in which everyone will

be happier,
and the world a better place.

Can you imagine what this world would be like, if everyone strived to be happier, by first bringing joy into the lives of others? We would have a paradise on Earth, a true Utopia, a Earthly Heaven.

In fact that is what the Kingdom of God is truly about, doing Good and being Good. Loving and being Love — which is our true nature.

And when we live our lives according to this principle, it is only a matter of time, until the world we Dream of, becomes the world we live in.
